Warhounds Factions — Campaign Alliances and Consequences

Five factions compete for influence across the Warhounds campaign. Your alliance decisions determine which contracts unlock, which allies join your roster, and what resources become available — consequences that persist across the entire campaign. This guide covers each faction and what aligning with them costs and provides.

Warhounds faction map showing competing forces in East Africa

The campaign map shows the territorial situation across East Africa. Each faction controls different zones and offers contracts tied to their objectives.

Daamat

Daamat is the campaign's primary antagonist — an ultranationalist militia that presents itself as a liberation movement but operates as a regime, seizing territory country by country. Every contract you take is, directly or indirectly, part of the effort to slow or reverse Daamat's expansion. Daamat is not a faction you can ally with; it is the campaign's opposing force.

Daamat soldiers are well-equipped and aggressive. As the campaign progresses, Daamat's operational strength in each region can be weakened through covert operations and direct contract success, changing the difficulty and availability of later missions.

The African People's Front

The African People's Front is a faction competing for influence against Daamat's expansion. Aligning with the Front provides access to their soldiers and contracts tied to their regional objectives. Investing in this relationship early opens campaign paths that a Cai-Shen or Shield Corps-aligned playthrough would not reach.

Shield Corps

Shield Corps is a military organisation operating independently in the campaign space. Like the other non-Daamat factions, building a relationship with Shield Corps unlocks their unique soldiers and opens contracts exclusive to their alliance tier.

Cai-Shen Corporation

The Cai-Shen Corporation fields an armed corporate division operating across the campaign region. Aligning with Cai-Shen opens access to their contractor pool and exclusive contract opportunities tied to their corporate objectives.

The Warhounds (Player PMC)

Your squad — the Warhounds — operates as an independent PMC hired by President Canindo to resist Daamat's expansion. The Warhounds' strength comes from the ten unique veteran operators at the squad's core, supplemented by recruitable mercenaries and shaped by which factions you build relationships with over the course of the campaign.

How Alliance Choices Work

Faction relationships are built through Intel investment, contract selection, and covert operations. Key points to know going in:

  • Not every path is available in one playthrough. Aligning closely with one faction can close off opportunities with another.
  • Alliances have practical combat consequences. Faction soldiers trained in their doctrines join your roster with that faction's preferred class mix and loadout approach.
  • Intel is the resource for building faction relationships. Reserve Intel for faction investment rather than spending it entirely on equipment or base upgrades.
  • Contract selection signals alignment. Taking contracts that advance one faction's objectives builds relationship with that faction, even without direct Intel expenditure.
